Hi.
I have jus bought a 1998 chetak classic. it runs fine except that the lights flicker constantly and when the throttle is opened, the lights blow!. I hav checked all the connections i can easily get to and they all seem sound. i am a complete noob at all of this so any suggestions as to what the problem maybe/how i can troubleshoot it, will be greatly appreciated thanks!

Ho appena comprato una Chetak Classic del 1998, cammina bene ad eccezione delle luci che sfarfallano costantemente e quando accelero si bruciano del tutto. Ho controllato tutte le connessioni che posso raggiungere facilmente e tutto sembra apposto. Personalmente non ci capisco una mazza (traduzione non letterale) e se riuscite ad aiutarmi lo apprezzero'.

Well, I'm guessing here but if it runs then it's the electrical "system". If it's the electrical system and all the normal routines have been performed i.e. battery, connections, etc. then I would suspect the voltage regulator / rectifier. There are many on this board with more experience in that area than I that will chime in but while your waiting you could start there.
Beh, sto solo ipotizzando ma se cammina bene allora il problema e' sicuramente nell'impianto elettrico. Se hai controllato tutte le connessioni, atteria etc etc allora il problema e' da ricercare nel regolatore di tensione. Ci sono altri sul forum che ne sanno di piu'....
Poi a seguire tutti convergono sul regolatore di tensione....
